TIMOTHY LEWTON

Timothy Matthew Lewton, 64, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on March 5, 2026.

Tim was born and raised in Valley Grove, WV. He was known for his caring nature, generous spirit, and the big heart he shared with everyone around him. Above all else, Tim loved his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather.

One of Tim’s greatest joys in life was being a dad. He loved spending time with his children and later his grandchildren, always making them feel supported and encouraged. A big part of that time was spent around sports fields and rinks, where he coached baseball and hockey and spent countless hours driving to practices, games, and tournaments so his kids and grandkids could play the sports they loved. He was a soft spoken and encouraging presence on the sidelines, always focused on helping kids learn and enjoy the game. Many will remember him as the best batting practice pitcher around, always ready to throw just one more pitch or 500 more to help someone improve.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Lewton; his children, Brittany Lewton Delcid and her husband, Franklin, Adam Lewton, Christian Lewton and his wife, Caitlin; his cherished grandchildren, Derick, Greyson, Delilah, Callum, and Collins; and his sisters, Tina Hackathorn and Jill Stevens.

Tim’s love for his family and the time he spent supporting his children and grandchildren will be remembered by all who knew him. The memories made on ball fields and at the family gatherings will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 12pm-7pm, at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling (304-242-2311), also where service will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11am. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
