Elnora Gene “Norie” Lyons, 80, of Cambridge Springs, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at St. Vincent Health Center, to her heavenly reward. Elnora was born on October 31, 1945, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the fourth daughter of the late Eugene Willard Zane and Clara Marie Coleman Zane. She was a proud descendant of the Zane pioneer family, who settled in the Ohio River Valley in the 1700s and founded communities including Wheeling, West Virginia, Zanesfield and Zanesville, Ohio. Norie was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a custodian until her retirement in 2004. Following retirement, she lovingly cared for her husband. She had a passion for reading, enjoyed Bible study at home, took great joy in spoiling her grandson, and loved solving puzzles.
On June 15, 1963, she married her beloved husband, George Earl Lyons, who preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eugene Willard Lyons, in 1979; and five siblings: Margaret Reginia Coffman, Judith Ann Van Sickle, Mary Jane Zane, Corben Eugene Zane, and Gladys Marie Caldwell- Mulligan.
She is survived by her son, William “BJ/Bill” Lyons; daughters, Faith Lyons and Lorraine Lyons; and her grandson, Auston Lyons, all of Cambridge Springs.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Richard Haemer officiating. Interment will follow at Skeltontown Cemetery.
