HELENA DELATORE
Helena Rose (Sgalla) Delatore of Tiltonsville, Ohio, died Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Park Health. She was born November 20, 1936, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Peter and Clara Filippi Sgalla.
She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Tiltonsville and was a retired librarian for the Public Library of Steubenville, Tiltonsville Branch.
In addition to her parents, Helena was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Delatore; infant daughter Suzanne Delatore; granddaughter Margaret Rose Delatore; siblings Zira, Zara, Joseph, Andrew, Marian, Gino, Reno, and Peter Sgalla.
Helena is survived by sons, Jim (Mary) Delatore, Mike (Rhonda) Delatore, and Marion (Jill) Delatore; sister-in-law Savaria Johnson; grandchildren Jessica (Pat) Zadrozny, Trisha (Jared) Estock, Michael (Sarah) Delatore, Patrick (Emily) Delatore, Lillian (Ben) Pierce, and Sam Delatore; great-grandchildren Reese, Lola, and Partick Zadrozny, Oakley Estock, and Dayton Delatore and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Helena and celebrate her life on Friday, April 24th, from 3-7, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH, with a vigil service at 4 pm, with Father William Cross.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Saturday, 10 am, at St Joseph Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, OH.
Burial will follow at Upland Cemetery.
