LUCILLE SAFREED

She was born July 26, 1940, daughter of the late Radford and Maxine Hinnerman Reid.

Lucille was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She was an avid walker and enjoyed her morning coffee and walks in Oglebay. She loved flowers and tending to her garden. She was dedicated to her family and loved by everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Safreed; brothers, Buddy and Howard Reid; and her beloved dog and best friend, Lucy.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Rodney) Chambers, Robert “Bobby” (Kelly Gear) Safreed, Jr., Darla (Mike) Paree and Kimberly (Trevor) Gearhart; grandchildren, Mikey (Morgan), Robbie, Ronnie, Angie, Emily and Jonah; great-grandchildren, Ivan, Roslie, Azalea and Sunny; sister, Dorothy Izso; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1 PM at Short Creek Cemetery.
