EARL COLLINS

Earl Joseph Collins, 83, passed away on May 7, 2026, peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories cherished by his family, friends, and community.

Born on October 6, 1942, Earl was a lifelong resident of the Moundsville area and a respected member of the community.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Earl and Catherine V. Collins. He was a proud graduate of Moundsville High School, Class of 1961, and later served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard.

Throughout his life, Earl was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his profession. He was the owner and operator of Collins Electric and also served as City Electrician. In addition, he worked for Consolidated Coal Mine and Grisell’s Funeral Home.

Earl was deeply involved in his community and civic organizations. he was a longtime member of the Moundsville Elks Lodge 282 and proudly served as Exalted Ruler from 1989 to 1990. He was also a faithful member of Simpson United Methodist Church and served as a board member of Riverview Cemetery.

One of Earl’s greatest joys was his family. He shared 50 loving years of marriage with his wife, Doris Jean Collins, celebrating their anniversary each January 1st.

In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by his daughters, Jolene Collins, Joyce Duty, and Teresa (Ron) Rush; his grandchildren, Preston Cutler, Cadie Collins, Jessica Tawney, and Dustin (Miranda) Tawney; and his great-grandson, Brayden Baker

Earl will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to his family, service to his community, and the friendships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville; where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Rush officiating.

Private entombment will be held at Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum.
