CARL SCHELLHASE
Carl Schellhase
Carl J. Schellhase Sr., 82, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away May 30, 2026, after an extended illness.
Born August 19, 1943, in Wheeling, he was the son of the late N. James and Mary Margaret Ross Schellhase. A 1961 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, he continued his education at West Virginia University. Carl was a professional surveyor and served as vice president/ secretary of Stegman & Schellhase, Inc. He later worked as a principal agent and project manager for BHR and with Arcadis-US on infrastructure projects throughout Northeast Florida. He was especially proud of his work on Amelia Island Plantation and World Golf Village.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Ross and James Henry Schellhase; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Lee Schellhase.
Surviving are his children, Carl J. Schellhase Jr. and his husband, Scott M. Carlson, of Sugar Grove, IL; Charles R. Schellhase (Shani) of Wheeling, WV; and Amy L. Fisher (Mark) of Jacksonville Beach, FL. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Charles Schellhase and Ellanore Schellhase, both of Wheeling, WV, and Shane Fisher of Jacksonville Beach, FL; a brother, Jack Schellhase (Patricia) of Wheeling, WV; his longtime companion, Theresa A. Chamberlain of Ormond Beach, FL, with whom he resided; and several nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Ormond Beach, Florida.
