DELORES ‘TISSIE’ MCFADDEN

Delores "Tissie" McFadden

Dolores E. “Tissie” McFadden, 96, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, and deep community roots. Born on May 24, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, she was the cherished daughter of the late Helen (Shaler) and Raymond Garrison.

In addition to her parents, Tissie was preceded in death by her beloved son, E.R. McFadden (1995), and her four brothers, Raymond Jr., Gerald, Maurice, and Paul Garrison.

Tissie is survived by her daughter, Terry LaSavage; her daughter-in-law, Janice McFadden; and four grandchildren: Michael John LaSavage, Elise Cook, Matthew (Rosalie) McFadden, and Cade Freeman. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Brynn LaSavage, and William and Charlotte Cook, as well as several dear nieces and nephews.

Other surviving daughters include Jean Ann McFadden, Mary Kay Carson, and Patty Wilkinson.

Tissie’s heart was large enough to include many others she considered family, leaving behind her “adopted” daughters, Gerri (John) Hosler and Debbie (Jerry) Booth, and her life-long friend, Dolores Malinky.

Tissie was incredibly active in her community and a familiar, friendly face across many local organizations. She was a lifelong member of the Franklin United Methodist Church and dedicated her time to various civic and social clubs, including: The Franklin Women’s Club, The Wellsburg Women of the Moose, The Women of the Elks (Wellsburg Lodge), The Eastern Star, and The Brooke County Easter Seals.

An avid sports enthusiast and socializer, she could often be found on the greens or at the alleys with the Brooke Hills Women’s Golf League, the Highland Springs Golf League, and the Brooke Lanes Women’s Bowling League.

The family wishes to extend their deepest, heartfelt thanks to administrator Caroline Mason and the staff at Ann’s Country Retreat, as well as the staff and administration at Serra Village-Grace Cottage in Weirton, for their compassionate care and kindness. Also, many thanks to Amedisys Hospice Care and nurse Josie for all the comfort and care they provided.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd from 2-7 P.M. and again on Thursday, June 4th from 1:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 2:00 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV with Rev. Nelson Nygongo officiating

Entombment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family are kindly asked to send a donation in Tissie’s memory to two places that were close to her heart: Brooke Hills Park or Franklin United Methodist Church of Wellsburg.
