ERIC GORDON

Eric Gordon

Eric M. Gordon, age 56 of Moundsville, WV passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV.

He was born on September 26, 1969 in Glen Dale, WV the son of Carolyn. L Skrzypek Gordon and the late Donald. L. Gordon.

Eric is a 1987 graduate of Bishop Donahue High School. He graduated from Ohio Dominican College (now University), in 1991 having played baseball and majored in political science with Scholar-Athlete Honors. In 1994, Eric also graduated with his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Capital University Law School.

In 1994, Eric was admitted to the West Virginia Bar and has served on the U.S. District Court Northern District West Virginia as well as the U.S. District Court Southern District West Virginia.

Eric began his employment with Berry, Kessler, Crutchfield & Taylor in 1994 and became a partner in the firm in 2007. In 1998, he began working as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office. He is also employed as the attorney for the City of Benwood, West Virginia.

He was an avid baseball fan, having served as an assistant coach with BDHS, enjoyed rooting on the Pirates and everything associated with WVU Mountaineer athletics; and was passionate about history.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Mary Etta Gordon and Bernard and Sophie Skrzypek.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Janice M. Lilley Gordon; two sons, Dylan R. and Nicholas A. Ebert; a brother, Mark (Patricia) Gordon of Wilmington, DE; a sister, Cari (William) Snider of Adger, AL; a sister-in-law, Jelinda (Monte) Chambers of Moundsville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated, Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 610 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, WV with Fr. Priyesh Sebastian as celebrant.

Private Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Moundsville, WV.
