MARY JONES
Mary Ryan Jones, 88, passed away peacefully at home on June 5.
She was born on June 28, 1938 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Peter F. and Irene E. Ryan.
She attended Wheeling College and then retired after 23 years of work in the library at Wheeling Jesuit.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, George II; her daughters, Lisa Jones, and Ellen DiOrio (David); and son, George Jones III (Holli). She relished her grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Hailey, Cecilia, Cora and Rena.
She will be missed by her sisters, Kathy Schneider (John) and Patricia Huffner; (James) and her nieces, Emily, Lori and Jennifer.
Mary was preceded in death by her brother, John Ryan and his wife, Jane.
She loved to read and was happiest when she was holding a baby.
Mary wouldn’t want a fuss, so there will be no service at this time. Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to your local library.
