Sharon Ward
Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Sharon Diane Ward (Eller), age 75, passed away on June 6, 2026 in Wheeling, WV.
Sharon was blessed with a life full of laughter and a community full of love.
She was born March 28, 1951 in Glen Dale, West Virginia, the daughter, of Dorthy L. Eller (Paith) and the late, Ralph N. Eller.
Sharon was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. There, she served eighteen years as Sunday School teacher, twenty-eight years as Cemetery Co-Director, and Membership Secretary for fifty years. She spent her life a devout Christian and enjoyed fellowship, sharing her spirituality with others.
In her early life, she worked as proof machine operator at Mercantile Bank in Moundsville. There, she met her husband, Gary T. Ward. Together, Sharon and Gary built a home on Robert’s Ridge and had two children. .
She is survived by her husband, Gary T. Ward, whom she was married to for nearly 54 years, alongside her mother, Dorothy Eller; two children, Shelly M. (Jim) Behm of Glen Dale and Brian G. (Kelly) Ward of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Madeline, and Charles J. Behm and Aaden Ward; a brother, Carl (Ellen) Eller of Moundsville; sisters- in-law, Nancy (Larry) Taunt, Barbara (Charles) Buzzard; and Betty (Keith) Stern; a brother-in-law, Dale (Cindy) Ward; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory. 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11am at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3009 Roberts Ridge Rd., Moundsville, WV with Pastor Mark Harris officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery, Moundsville, WV.
