Margaret Helen Kotch, 91, formerly of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on July 15. She was born January 30, 1935, in McKinleyville, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Volski Lish.
She is also proceeded in death by her husband, George Kenneth Kotch (2022); brothers Paul, Stanley, Joe and Frank Lish and sisters Genevieve Brady, Marie Hayes and Joyce Peterson.
Margaret is survived by son John Kotch and his wife Margaret of Rising Sun, MD; two grandsons, Jackson Kotch of Severn, MD and Stuart Kotch of Wilmington, DE; sister Rose Henry (Don); brother Edward Lish (Beatrice).
Margaret graduated from Bethany High School in 1952 and started working at G.C. Murphy's in Wellsburg. After turning 18, she joined The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P), where she worked for 10 years. In 1958, she also helped part time with her husband's new business endeavor, the Downtown Bakery in Steubenville, OH.
Margaret's greatest passion was helping raise her grandsons, which she would watch for days on end in both West Virginia and Maryland.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home 1515 Charles St. Wellsburg, WV. Funeral liturgy with Mass of Christian burial Monday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV on July 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. with Father Gerald Muoka as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
