Ronald M. Newman, age 88, of Paden City, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH.
He was born on June 7, 1938, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of the late Joseph Marshall Newman and Emma Mary Starkey Newman.
Ronald was a retired operator with Ormet Industries for over 42 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of New Martinsville, WV. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and carpentry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Newman; and a sister, Joann Cecil.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Viola Henthorn Newman, one daughter, Sharon R. Newman of New Martinsville; one son, Ronnie (Tracy Hudkins) Newman of Sistersville, WV; two sisters, Jacklyn Boyd of California, and Marilyn Yoho of New Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday July 29, 2026 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 3rd Street, New Martinsville, WV where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 1 p.m. with Darrell Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
