Dorothy Marie Jagaczewski, 93, passed away on August 10, 2026, in Wheeling, WV. Dorothy was born on September 28, 1932, in Midway, OH, the daughter of the late Ignatz and Violet (Jendrusik) Gdula.
Dorothy was retired from G. C. Murphy's where she worked as a salesclerk for 25 years. Prior to that she worked at Marsh Wheeling Stogies. She and her husband enjoyed going out to Clendening Lake.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Frank P. Jagaczewski and her brothers Frank Carl, Frank Paul, Joseph, Edward, Stanley, and John Gdula.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Patricia Busack of Adena, OH; her son Richard Jagaczewski of Wheeling; daughter Mary Ann Hastings of Wheeling, grandchildren DJ (Jennifer) Hastings, and great-grandchildren Jacob, Hailey, and Mason; daughter Patricia Starr of Lakeland, FL, grandchildren Amy, David, Brook, and Zac, nine great-grand- children, and 14 great-great-grand children; and sisters-in- law Anna Marie Gdula, Willa "Sis" Chlon, Jo Ann Orend Chlon, and Connie Gdula.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 17, from 12 p.m. until time of Vigil Service at 6 p.m. at CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists South Wheeling Chapel, 3828 Jacob St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Procession to Mt. Calvary Cemetery Bishop's Chapel will directly follow.
The Jagaczewski children would like to thank Dr. James Comerci and Dr. Adam Turalinski for their care of Dorothy.
