Paul E. "Gene" Emch, age 91, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Tuesday July 28, 2026, at Westwood Place in Woodsfield, OH.
Gene did donate his body to WVU Gift Registry.
He was born on September 15, 1934, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of the late Paul B. and Hattie L. Emch.
He was a 1952 graduate of Magnolia High school and attended WVU for two years, where he earned his varsity letter as a member of the first swimming team at WVU. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in peacetime. Gene retired from Bayer Corp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Deloris Jean (Bohrer) Emch.
He is survived by their son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Diana; and two grandsons, Eric and Travis all of New Martinsville; granddaughter-in-law, Nikki; two great grandchildren, Brayden Eugene and Haizley Jean Emch, children of Travis and Nikki; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church 841 Fourth St. New Martinsville, WV with Charlie Stout officiating.
