Paul David South, 44, of Triadelphia, WV, passed away at home on Friday, September 11, 2026, following a brief illness and diabetic complications. Paul was born on October 4, 1981, in Glen Dale, WV, the son of Venetta South (Robert Mosser) of Moundsville, WV, and the late David South.
Paul graduated from John Marshall High School in 1999. He worked in coal mining, at gas well sites, and in various other positions. Most recently, he was employed by DeFelice Pizza in Bethlehem, WV.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Earl and Mary Jane South Maynard and his maternal grandparents Allen and Laura Mae Hartley.
In addition to his mother, Paul is survived by his younger brother Daniel of Moundsville, WV, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind many friends whom he enjoyed spending time with at concerts, football games, and on fishing trips to the Cranberry Glades along with his beloved dog Aoifa.
Friends and family will be received at a Memorial Gathering on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1 p.m., all at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, in Moundsville. Pastor C. J. Plogger of Ash Avenue Church of God will officiate.
