Ricky Lee “Bugs” Barker, 67, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Born on October 2, 1958, in Wheeling, WV, Rick was the beloved son of Rose Marie Barker and the late Robert Lee “Bugs” Barker.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Rick found his calling in bricklaying. He took great pride in the craft and in creating beautiful structures that would stand for generations. Through his work, he carried on a tradition passed down by his father, leaving behind a lasting reminder of their shared trade and the legacy of craftsmanship that connected them. Rick was a proud member of the Wheeling Bricklayers Local #1.
Rick is survived by his mother, Rose Marie Barker; his son, Daniel (Katie) Barker; his grandson, Deklan Lee Thomas Barker; his sister, Traci (Joe) Polus; his three nieces, Bethany (Chad) Faulstick, Misti (Chance) Kildow, and Alexa (Matt) Burton; and one great-niece and one great-nephew.
A special thank you to Dan Magers, a good friend of Rick’s, for always being there for him.
Family will receive friends at a Memorial Gathering on Thursday, September 24, from 1:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at CARE Funeral & Cremation Services Moundsville Chapel, 1500 Second St.
