ROSALIE GALLOWAY

Rosalie Jean Galloway, 86, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away on September 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in Morgantown, WV. Rosalie was born on November 9, 1939, in Wheeling, the daughter of the late John M. and Virginia M. (West) Cihy.

In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband Robin Hood Galloway, son Kevin Lynd Galloway, daughter-in-law Cindy Anne Galloway, and sister Shirley A. Beltz.

Rosalie is survived by her son Keith A. Galloway, daughter Vandy A. Holman (Dave), two grandchildren Kassandra A. Olgers and Kristen M. Katona, three great- grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew.

A librarian who devoted 25 years to the Ohio County Public Library, Rosalie also served as a library teacher for many years at Wheeling Country Day School as well as working at Orchard Park Daycare. She was a member of two Wheeling bridge clubs and the Junior Women's Club and a lifelong parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles, reading, cards, and bird watching.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 11, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Homes Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., in Wheeling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 12, at 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1225 National Rd., in Wheeling.
