Sharon Louise Bigelow, 70, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Wheeling Hospital- WVU.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on August 12, 1956, a daughter of the late Bruce and Virginia (Dunn) Bigelow. Sharon was known for her passionate love of sports, particularly as an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Her enthusiasm and spirited nature brought joy to those around her, whether she was cheering on her favorite team or spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her three siblings, Cecil (Ginny) Bowman, Elaine (Brian) Morris, and Valerie (David) Hannen; her six nieces and nephews, Elise Hampton, Jacob (Morgan) Bowman, Angela Morris, Jason (Kayla) Morris, Melanie Ross, and Sarah Hannen; her great-nieces and great-nephews: Chase, Kaitlyn, Jacob B., Riley, Peyton, RJ, Jacob C., Abigail, James, Jolaine, Andrew, Jason, and Gabby and a large extended family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sharon's life at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff St., on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, at 1 p.m., followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
Sharon's generous spirit and joyful presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
