BRENT MONTGOMERY

Brent Leighton Montgomery, 70 of Cain Ridge Clarington Ohio, passed away Friday, October 16th at Wheeling Hospital. He was born April 4th, 1956, in Glendale West Virginia to the late Kenneth L. and Lila (Mercer) Montgomery.

Brent enjoyed a highly active and productive childhood growing up in Moundsville WV. He was a member of the Baptist Church sponsored Boy Scouts of America troop achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He played Little League Baseball and was a standout pitcher for the John Marshall Monarchs. Later he tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates but said "They were looking for a catcher".

In adulthood Brent was similarly active retiring from PPG Industries (now Westlake Industries) with over 36 years of faithful service, where he developed many good friends and colleagues. While working at PPG Brent purchased property, built his Log Home, and developed not only the property in Clarington, but lifelong friends, especially John and Marcia Toman. In his free time Brent loved to hunt and enjoyed bowling (at least one 300 game to his credit) and many golfing trips to Myrtle Beach with his friends. Brent was an avid WVU sports fan, watching almost every game, rooting them on to victory. For several years Brent and Tammy hosted a family reunion that was always enjoyed by the Montgomery clan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Tamara Margaret (Mayeres) Montgomery and one brother Kenneth "Wayne" Montgomery.

Surviving are his brother, Finley Dale (Karla) Montgomery, Aunt Nancy (Jim) Mason, Aunt Pat Stockham Montgomery, Brother-in-Law Rich (Laurie) Mayeres, Sister-in-Law Tina (Jim) Patterson, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank the 5th floor staff at Wheeling Hospital and Valley Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care given Brent.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MYOFB RESCUE c/o Vicki Groves, Woodsfield, OH 43793.

A private service will be held for immediate family and close friends. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home.
