Whether they’re looking to fuel up before the race or reload after giving it their all, participants in the 41st-annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic can enjoy a pasta and specialty wrap buffet this weekend at River City Restaurant as part of the weekend’s activities.

River City co-owner Jason Miller said the restaurant will feature a pasta buffet that will include pasta marinara, pasta alfredo, meatballs, grilled chicken, salad and a specialty wraps bar from 5-9 p.m. Friday and again from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Miller said the buffet will be similar to the one the restaurant featured last year as part of the race festivities, but this year will include a variety of specialty wraps, such as buffalo chicken or honey mustard chicken wraps.

Although race participants can use a their food voucher included with their race packet to redeem for a meal, Miller said the public is invited to pay a fee and enjoy the buffet, as well. River City will also offer a beverage special following the race.

Miller said working in conjunction with the race has been a great experience for River City in the past.

“Having everyone come down here in a centralized location … several hundred people come through these doors,” Miller said.

The Ogden race, which represents the unofficial kickoff to summer in the Ohio Valley, is set for Saturday morning in Wheeling.

Starting at $2.99/week.
