Ensuring You Can Cast Ballot in W.Va.

Even if the coronavirus epidemic begins to abate sooner than some expect, many West Virginians will be reluctant to go to their regular polling places to cast ballots in the June 9 primary election. If you are among them, watch your mail carefully in early April.

Special provisions have been made for Mountain State residents to use the absentee ballot system this year. During the first week of April, county election officials will mail every registered voter an application to do that, if desired.

Simply fill out the application and mail it back to receive an absentee ballot.

Caution: Absentee ballot applications must be received by May 6.

Using an absentee ballot ensures you can vote in the June 9 primary. If you take that route, don’t forget the deadline.

Starting at $2.99/week.
