It is doubtful officials, educators and service personnel in the Indian Creek Local School District ever thought they would be trying to serve children in the atmosphere prevailing today. Blame COVID-19.
But officials and employees in the district have met the viral enemy head-on and, somehow, managed to pursue their mission of educating children. That says much about both their skill and their dedication.
Voters in the district are being asked to renew a tax levy that provides a significant portion of the funds needed to continue operating a high-quality school system. If voters approve, the 7.9-mill levy will be renewed for another five years.
Again, note that word: renewal. No new taxes are involved.
We encourage Indian Creek voters to say yes to the levy. District employees and officials have demonstrated during the past several months that the money will be put to good use.
