Mother’s Day Has Its Roots in West Virginia
It was in 1908 that Anna Jarvis organized what has come to be known as “Mother’s Day” in Grafton, West Virginia, about two hours south of Wheeling. Now, 113 years later as we prepare to commemorate Mother’s Day 2021, let us all remember and celebrate the special place mothers hold in our hearts and lives.
There are many good sayings about the impact our mothers have on us, but we like today this one from poet Robert Browning: “Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.”
Precisely. So, this weekend, as you visit with your mother, or talk with her over the phone, let her know just how much you appreciate and love her. That will make her day.
