Here's a fact: it's not easy getting from Point A to Point B anywhere in and around Wheeling right now due to road construction. Interstate 70, W.Va. 2 and the interchange off I-470, work in Center Wheeling … the list of ongoing road maintenance seems never-ending. Orange barrels on major four-lane highways have become our area's fall foilage marker this season.
It's easy to get frustrated by all the construction when you're commuting to work, or heading to the grocery store or a child's practice. That's why it's important to give yourself some additional time to get to your destination, slow down through construction zones and, above all else, be patient. Road construction workers are simply doing their job as quickly as possible; giving them a hard time for that doesn't do any good.
