– To the golf teams at Wheeling Park High School and Wheeling Central Catholic High School as they captured the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission Class AAA/Class A state titles, respectively, Wednesday at Oglebay's Jones Course.
Wheeling Park senior Gavin Goodrich and Wheeling Central senior Justin Doerr capped their high school careers with individual state titles in their respective classes. Other local medalists were Park's Campbell Koegler (4th in AAA), John Marshall's Colton Sprowls (7th in AAA), Wheeling Central's Luke Tiu (3rd in Class A) and Ryan Costanzo (5th in Class A) and Weir High's Jude Smith (8th in Class AA).
