Making Sure They Vote
For many area youngsters away at college, Nov. 8 will mark their first opportunity to vote in a general election. Local parents and grandparents should help ensure those students request an absentee ballot from their counties so they, too, can do their civic duty and vote.
Likewise, we all should consider family members and friends who may not be able to get to the polls to vote early, or to vote on election day. Helping them request an absentee ballot is one easy way to ensure they remain part of this special experience.
Nov. 8 is just around the corner. Let’s all do our part and make sure everyone who’s eligible to vote does, in fact, cast a ballot.
