It's November. The days are getting shorter, and the first snowfall already has hit the ground. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas is less than eight weeks away.
It's time to get into the holiday spirit -- and a number of events this week should help all of us, as the late B.E. Taylor of Wheeling would say, "Feel the love of Christmas."
On Thursday, the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will visit Wheeling Park, and later that evening, Oglebay's Winter Festival of Lights will be turned on to brighten the region.
That's followed Saturday at Cabela's when Santa Claus himself will be in attendance to kick off the store's Santa Wonderland Experience.
Oglebay's Festival of Trees is scheduled for Friday evening, featuring decorated trees, wreaths, and garlands that can be bid on or, in some cases, purchased outright.
There's much to do to get in the holiday spirit. Get out and enjoy what our area has to offer.
