Join Us in Giving Back This Season

2 min read

On Tuesday, the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling received a donation of nearly $900 from officials at The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register. The donation will help to feed many hungry souls this winter, serving to keep our communities warm and open to all.

That donation wouldn't have been possible without the support of our local business partners. We partnered with the following businesses -- Kings Jewelry, WVU Medicine, OVRTA, W.Va. Development Office, Dvorak & Son Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, D&J Sales & Services, Washington Crown Center, Greco's, the Capitol Theatre, Altenheim, Cloud 9, Bethany College, Quality Exteriors, Kings Corner and Wilson Furniture -- on a Thanksgiving Day promotion that included this sizable donation to the Soup Kitchen. It's part of our goal to partner with others in our community to give back and support worthwhile causes -- and anyone who's ever volunteered at the Soup Kitchen sees the need there is real.

As we move through the season of giving, we're proud to do our small part in making life better for others. It's one of the ways we can help facilitate a stronger, more charitable community.

You, too, have a part to play. Give what you can. Drop a dollar in the Red Kettles this weekend. Volunteer. Read to children. There are so many options.

So many of us are so blessed -- let's ensure others feel blessed as well. Find ways to give and support our communities.
