Needles in alleys. People wandering through yards. Fights taking place. People looking windows of parked cars.
This, according to some residents in Moundsville, is becoming a daily occurrence throughout the city. Those residents had the opportunity on Wednesday to voice their concerns to city officials during a town hall session.
And now it's time for Moundsville to tackle the problem.
"Some of the things we've experienced ... needles in the alley beside our house; we live on a corner lot," resident Seth McIntyre said.
"People -- we call them homeless but we don't really know if they are or not but that's what we've termed them -- walking through yards, ours and everyone else's, at all hours of the day or night."
How have we come to this not just in Moundsville, but throughout our Ohio Valley? Most residents agreed the problem has worsened over the past year; what's changed?
Moundsville officials asked for input, and they received it. Now it's time to for them to task public safety officials with cleaning up the problem. Residents should not have to deal with these problems.
