– To members of the Wheeling Elks Lodge No. 28 for their continued support of our area's youth. Not only do Elks member honor student athletes each month, they also hand out two $1,000 scholarships to area youth each December to help with the cost of college. This year's winners were Ryleigh Hicks, a senior at Wheeling Park High School and Levi Estep, a senior at Wheeling Central Catholic High School. Both also are eligible for further state and national Elks scholarships.
Parents understand the cost of college adds up quickly; asssistance such as the Elks do goes a long way to offsetting that cost.
