Born on November 21, 1949, in Midland, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Frederick and Mary Josephine (McGann) Meyers. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary L. Rymer; brothers, Jack Meyers (Marg) and Fred Meyers (Lana); brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jeanie Meyers (Jimmy), Frank Gavin (Joan), John Mertz (Mary Anne), and Margie “Marg” Meyers (Jack); nephews, Francis and Michael Mertz; nieces, Dawn Rymer and Margie “Scooter” Meyers; and great-nephew, Jack Mertz.

Margie is survived by her three children, Patrick J. Rymer (Mandi) of Middlebourne, Laura Bennett (Andy) of White Sulphur Springs, and Nicholas Rymer (Maegan) of Morgantown. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Anne Mertz and Joan Gavin; brothers, James “Jimmy” Meyers and Francis Meyers (Mary Anne); sister-in-law, Lana Meyers; and five cherished grandchildren, Josephine, Issac, Frederick, Teagan, and Fletcher. She leaves behind many other beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and dear friends.

Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known for her generosity and tireless service to her community and faith. She contributed her time and talents as an officer, board member, and dedicated volunteer in numerous organizations, including the Girl Scouts, local library and park boards, PTA, St. Lawrence and Holy Rosary Parish Councils, Altar Guilds, as well as contributing to services there in music and song. She served in various capacities for the athletic and band boosters’ organizations and concessions. An avid volunteer and contributor to local food banks, she also served as a religious education teacher and college professor. Margie was always committed to faith, education, and service.

Her kitchen was a place of comfort and generosity, where she lovingly prepared pepperoni rolls, cakes, cookies, and bread for family, friends, neighbors, community events, and those in need. Margie’s warmth and dedication touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Furbee Funeral Home in Middlebourne, followed by a service in celebration of Margie’s life at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated the following morning at 10 a.m., October 23, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Middlebourne Cemetery.
