Take Advantage of ‘Amnesty Day’

There are some Ohio drivers out there who might not know that their license is suspended. They might not find out until it’s too late and they’re having an uncomfortable conversation with law enforcement.

Yet in the Buckeye State, there is an opportunity for residents to check on their license’s status and, if there’s an issue, work toward correcting it with no immediate punishment.

The Divisional Court Complex of Belmont County will host an Amnesty Day from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on March 23.

“Anyone with an Ohio license suspension is invited to come to the Divisional Court Complex and sit down with a BMV representative to see why they are suspended, discuss steps to obtain a valid license and most importantly see if they qualify for a large portion or all of their reinstatement fees to be waived,” Belmont County Northern Division Court judge Adam Myser said. “There are over 40 ways that drivers can have their privileges suspended in the state of Ohio and many drivers do not know that they are actively suspended. Often, it can be frustrating, difficult or time consuming to discuss these matters with busy local departments.”

A driver’s license is essentially a lifeline. Lose that, and life gets a lot more complicated.

If you’re worried, don’t let that happen. Take advantage of Amnesty day and stay on the road.

Starting at $2.99/week.
