Grand Vue’s Growth
Tucked away in Moundsville, Grand Vue Park is a hidden gem that gives Ohio Valley residents another place to play outdoors. The park recently broke ground on a project that will make it even more attractive.
The park is spending $3.8 million to build four new cabins at the park. Two will look like the conventional cabins found around Grand Vue. The other two will be elevated cabins, similar to the treetop cabins already found in the park.
Park General Manager Craig White said all four cabins will have the comforts of home and then some. Each will be equipped with a state-of-the-art hot tub. This project is proof that Marshall County isn’t sitting idly by and watching other communities invest in their recreational sites. It wants Grand Vue Park to be a destination, and is putting its money where its mouth is by throwing $1.4 million into the pot to help with costs.
The new cabins are coming at a smart time. With fuel costs the way they are – and the way they could be for a while – White said Ohio Valley families will be looking for “one-tank trips” where they can hop in the car and get to a fun spot quickly. Marshall County and Grand Vue Park want the park to be at the top of the list when families are picking such a destination.
It’s good to see Grand Vue and the county taking the initiative to continue that park’s evolution. It’s another feather in the cap of Ohio Valley recreational landscape.
