The Wheeling Nailers are in a spot they haven't seen in 10 years -- the ECHL Kelly Cup semifinals. The Nailers began their Eastern Conference Final series in Florida on Friday against the Florida Everblades. They'll play one more game in the Sunshine State before heading back to West Virginia for two, and possibly three, games at WesBanco Arena.
And when they do come back, they need a raucous crowd in the arena cheering them on.
There have been plenty of fans at WesBanco Arena through the Nailers' current run. But why not make the party even bigger? This team has come together to reach the league's final four for the first time since 2016. That milestone deserves some support.
So the Nailers will host Games 3 and 4 and, if necessary, Game 5, at WesBanco Arena. Those contests will be played Wednesday, May 27, Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30. The puck will drop for those games at 7:10 p.m.
It has been a wild ride so far for the team, especially after a thrilling seven-game series win over Maine to get to this point. The Nailers have been a staple of Ohio Valley athletics for decades, and their success is a feather in the region's cap. Please come out to show your appreciation for that work.
