In what has become such a politically charged climate throughout the United States, it's always good to see Democrats and Republicans reach across the aisle to work toward a common cause.
That current cause is building a better roster of poll workers in Ohio County, and the leaders of both the county Democratic and Republican Executive Committees -- Democratic Chair Anthony Edmond and Republican Chair Michael Borsuk -- have joined forces to make that happen.
And, in the meantime, it's also a lesson on how the two sides can put differences aside for the sake of the mission.
"Michael and I agree, no matter how they (candidates) are running their campaigns and ideas out there, the choice should be that of the voters," Edmond said. "It can only be your choice if one, you are registered, and two, if you get out and vote."
Too often, the extreme subdivisions of both parties have become too influential. Their voices of derision and division have become the loudest. It's good to see Edmond and Borsuk, two young, smart people, reclaim the energy of both parties.
They don't have to agree with each other. They often won't. But they also don't have to be toxic.
"I want to remind everyone – just because you think differently from somebody, never forget the humility and the person you are disagreeing with," Borsuk said.
And that's something on which everyone should agree.
