A full house at the Ohio County Animal Shelter means an less expensive road toward finding a new pet for the household.
There currently are 22 dogs and 25 cats at the shelter, and in an effort to find those animals new families, the shelter is offering a 50% discount on adoption fees through the end of August. The normal $160 fee to adopt a dog is currently $80. The normal $60 fee to adopt a cat is currently $30.
Those fees also include having the animal spayed or neutered. There are a variety of ages and sizes for both dogs and cats.
Many of these animals find their way to the animal shelter through no fault of their own. They're found by a good Samaritan abandoned by the road. A family that thought it could handle a pet realized it made a mistake. These are good dogs and cats that would make great companions for folks looking for one. Helping give these animals a fresh start in a good home would be awesome for both pets and owners.
