Virus an Opportunity
A college professor friend of mine emailed me that, “This coronavirus situation is crazy, eh?”
I was reminded of political activist, Clinton adviser, and past Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel’s quote, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you could not do before.”
Currently, it means that, after relentless efforts, another opportunity for those who hate President Trump to use radical Saul Alinsky’s tactics to arbitrarily exploit this situation to possibly end his presidency. Such raging irrationality posing as relief is really a ruthless grasp for political power void of compassion and respect for the “rule of law.”
Benjamin Franklin once stated, “Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency, but in this world nothing can said to be certain except death and taxes.”
Emanuel and Alinsky’s legions continue their assault on said Constitution by not accepting the results of the 2016 election even as their cohorts advocate death and tax policies to the detriment of the living.
It is a sign of our times that God put all such unbelief regarding our Constitution, death and taxes, into absolute perspective by gifting his Son, Jesus Christ, to this world that mostly refuses with violence or indifference His generosity — Matthew 6:21-24, John 8:24, 26-36. Remember, too, that Jesus Christ is the Supreme Judge of the world that our founders appealed to in the Declaration of Independence for establishing our nation — Jn 5:21-23, Acts 17:30-31.
“Crazy, eh?” Each has to judge accordingly. Not to judge is also a judgment. Such is the nature of God’s paradigm of freedom and forgiveness. What a crucible! — Mt 5:43-48, Luke 23:34, II Corinthians 3:17-18.
