Presidents Should Just Be Honest
Editor, News-Register:
As I look back on Trump’s wasted four years as president, the 20,000 lies that he spoke, none of them affected me as much as the untruths he spoke about Covid-19, that it would be gone by spring.
The Chinese virus he called it, the fact that he refused to wear a mask, and held rallies where thousands of people were maskless. Yet followers were mesmerized by his speeches following him over the covid cliff, thousands of lives were cut short following Trump’s advice on Covid-19, one of those that died was my biological father who loved Trump, and supported him 100% as the “greatest” president ever.
The truth of the matter is we can never again allow a man of Trump’s caliber to be president; all candidates from now on should be fully vetted, i.e. taxes, criminal background, dishonesty, character flaws and mental stability. Donald Trump is responsible for thousands of deaths for downplaying Covid-19.
That to me is his legacy.
