Standing Tall for What is Right
Editor, News-Register:
Sept. 11, 2001, nearly 23 years ago, was one of the saddest, most horrific days in our country’s history — probably since Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. A total of 2,977 people died in the plane crashes that day as a result of the men who came here, haters of America.
But that’s not the total casualty list. Did you know that more than 6,343 of the public and first responders have died as a result of their exposure to dust and poisonous vapors, which also would have included those in the Twin Towers and the residents of surrounding areas in Manhattan? There were more than 400,000 men, women and children that were exposed by the poisonous gases, vapors and dust from 9/11, and there have been 19,000 that are suffering from lung issues and other maladies. If our education system cares about children, history needs to be taught, reminding them of what happened — particularly what could happen in the future,
We are seeing something similar today, as 14 of the 19 hijackers that came to our great country were welcome, and given U.S. Visas. They hated not only America, but you and I. What we have seen come across our southern border, 10 million to 20 million illegals that you and we are paying for, and many of what numbers we don’t know who they are — are they militants come here to destroy our people and destroy our nation.
When will be the next 911? You might not have considered it might have already happened — and we’ve already moved on and stopped talking about it. We never heard one more thing about it, because for me, it happened on March 26, 2024, the Baltimore bridge disaster.
As naive as most people are, they probably said this was no terrorist attack. Seven lives lost, $30 billion in revenue loss, $2 billion to replace the bridge. Amazing, don’t you think? Had I been a young man on 9/11 I would have enlisted. We need to remember this day and not be like the Eloi in the book called “The Time Machine,” who were on the beach as their friend was drowning in the river and the stranger had to save her because they were being lackadaisical.
Our country consists of red, yellow, black and white, and we must personally always stand for what is right.
