Frontrunner Choice Baffling

Editor, News-Register: That Nikki Haley isn’t the GOP frontrunner says something very strange about that party. She has the requisite experience. She has clearly been the smartest candidate on the debate stage. She is a real conservative choice. Biden’s campaign must be terrified about running against a young and vibrant candidate. Surely that’s what Republican voters should prefer to four more years of Trump’s obvious mental decline and narcissism. Richard Steele Moundsville

Editor, News-Register: When our members of Congress pat themselves on the back for jobs created during a certain period, most of which aren’t sufficient to support a family, why is it that we never hear about jobs lost, business closings, layoffs and bankrupt filings. That number is dwarfed by an estimated 15,000 Palestinian civilians killed in Israel’s military response to Hamas’ 1,200 murders Oct. 7.
