Editor, News-Register: Citizen-led ballot initiatives have been an integral method for the citizens of the state of Ohio to actively participate in our democracy and inform their elected officials of their wishes for over 100 years. Pay Attention While Driving in Area

Editor, News-Register: Last month, on the Interstate 70 west off-ramp headed toward W.Va. 2 south, just outside the Wheeling Tunnel, I was approaching the point where traffic merges on the ramp when a car ran through that STOP sign, traveling at a high rate of speed. Had our car been seconds different we would have been hit by the car that ran through the stop sign. We could have been seriously injured or killed. Editor, News-Register: The West Virginia Public Service Commission has come under criticism for favoring coal-fired generation over renewable energy. The fact is that the Commission favors lower cost generation over higher cost generation. Editor, News-Register: 1. While Russia is losing ground previously taken from Ukraine, it is overwhelming Ukrainians with massive attacks on power and water infrastructure. 2. Ukrainians are absorbing these blows with resilience and courage, but their endurance has limits. 3. Thankful for Aid and Assistance

Editor, News-Register: We didn’t get a name.  But this heart-felt “thank you” goes out to the Wheeling-area nurse who was kind enough to stop and comfort my daughter after a wreck on 2-Mile Hill during Friday morning’s snowstorm.  Your compassion and empathy were certainly welcomed at an extremely traumatic time.
