Marshall Memo: History Museum; Poetry; and Twitty and Lynn

Items related to Marshall County history and genealogy are being sought by the Marshall County History Museum, formerly known as the Marshall County Historical Society Museum.

The Museum, located on 13th Street in Moundsville, has not only a name change, but has undergone an interior overhaul which has created additional space

The extensive reorganization and rotations of artifacts over the past 3 1/2 months can be attributed to board members Brian Richmond and Evan Lightner, and volunteers Jill Dolen and Dixie Selman. Their work has created additional space for such items as old yearbooks, photographs, and other items related to historical Marshall County. These items can be placed on loan or donated to the museum and will be displayed with the name of the donor/loaner in the museum.

The MCHS is dedicated to preserving items of the past, educating future generations, helping with genealogy research, and providing an opportunity for long-time residents to reminisce about days gone by.

Persons who have items they would like to donate or loan for display at the museum are asked to call the office of the Cockayne Farmstead in Glen Dale, at 304-845-1411.
