Marshall Memo: Mobile Food Pantry; Safe Sitter Classes; and a Special Birthday Wish
The Marshall County Family Resource Network is proud to once again partner with the Mountaineer Food Bank for a Mobile Food Pantry serving Marshall County residents.
The Mobile Food Pantry will be held on Thursday, July 17, at the Valley Fork Boys Baseball Complex, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Please enter from 12th Street. Families are invited to drive up and receive a food box that will be placed into their vehicle.
One food box will be given per family while supplies last.

The Marshall County Chamber Summer Concert Services will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Benwood City Park featuring Libby Adams.
On Thursday, July 17th from 5-7 p.m. “Join the Celebration” at the Marshall County Chamber Mix/Mingle at Grand Vue Park.
Chamber members and Non-Profits can enjoy networking, food, fun and live music by “White Collar Criminals”
“Christmas in July On the Avenue” will be held in downtown Moundsville on Friday, July 19.
Local businesses are invited to decorate their doors for the celebration with items such as Christmas lights, wreaths, and other holiday decor.
Businesses are also encouraged to have individual raffles and host their own giveaways.
There will also be balloons, food trucks, and live music.
Let’s get out and support all our Moundsville businesses.

Marshall County Schools students are enjoying summer break but mark your calendars now for the 25th anniversary of the Back 2 School Fun Fair!
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 30, at the Moundsville Center (former West Virginia Penitentiary).
Everything is free and there will be health screenings, backpacks, school supplies, and toiletries. A breakfast of milk and doughnuts will be available and there is a chance to win a new bike and win tickets to Kennywood.

Safe Sitter classes will be held at the WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital Betty Beebe-Habig Room on July 25 and July 28 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
These instructor-led classes are filled with fun games and role-playing exercises to prepare those in grades 6-8 to be safe when home alone watching younger siblings or babysitting.
Students will use mannequins to practice rescue skills such as choking rescue and CPR.
Pre-registration is required two weeks prior to the start date of the class by calling 304-221-4539.
Classes are free and sponsored by the Auxiliary of WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital and the Marshall County Family Resource Network.
