In 2009, President Barack Obama began his infamous War on Coal after promising to “bankrupt” the industry. He weaponized federal bureaucrats and regulations to go after mines and coal communities across the country. The Marshall County Strings Program will present its annual Alumni concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the John Marshall High School Center for Performing Arts. Several matters were outlined by Moundsville City Manager Rick Healy at Tuesday’s meeting. A dog park was opened recently in the southern section of Riverfront Park. There are two enclosed sides—one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. A formal ribbon cutting will take place in the spring when a water hydrant will be installed.
