ThrIVe co-owner Jessica Barclay strives to continue to help customers improve their quality of life.

WHEELING — ThrIVe co-owner Jessica Barclay is continuing to expand the business to offer more than 30 unique wellness solutions, including its newest addition, Exomind.

Barclay said that the Exomind is a therapy designed to treat symptoms of depression, helping patients regain control and improve their quality of life.

“It is a fabulous device and is the modern version of an older technology that’s popular with people who really struggle with mental wellness. It is a modernized version of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which has been FDA approved for 40 years,” she said. “It’s a treatment for depression, anxiety and other mental wellness concerns. This is a modern, more comfortable version of TMS that can be done in six sessions, very comfortably and in a setting without a lot of deep medical intervention. This is the 2026 version of TMS.”

She added that a combat veteran used the Exomind for severe PTSD and responded so well to the treatment that he is even able to celebrate the Fourth of July without having issues with fireworks.

“We have a veteran who suffered from PTSD and was pretty much homebound, and he’d really become a small version of himself, and after doing Exomind, he was able to get out more and go back to the life he had before,” Barclay said. “It made life not so difficult for him. Exomind is great at getting you unstuck.”

She added that a diagnosis of depression or anxiety is not required to receive treatment of Exomind.

“If life’s just hard or you’re having a hard time making decisions you used to, then Exomind is a great way to help with that,” Barclay said.

Started in 2019, ThrIVe isn’t Barclay’s first entrepreneur venture. She and her co-owner Vanessa Craig also co-own Play N Stay Pet Camp that opened in 2005. It is a business that has expanded over the years with multiple locations in Wheeling and St. Clairsville, offering dog daycare, overnight pet lodging, kitty camps and a puppy training school.

Barclay said that she has been an avid user of alternative treatment and would drive to Akron and Pittsburgh for cryotherapy, float therapy, infrared sauna and halo therapy.

“I realized that it did need to be available to more people. And then once you start approaching it from a business perspective, new things start to reveal themselves to you,” she said. “Nowadays you get served with ads that are similar to what you’re interested in, but back then, it took talking to people who owned places similar to what we were going to open.”

She added that is how she included red light therapy to her business.

Barclay said that she offers both a la carte service as well as a series of treatments.

“We say, ‘one’s a treat, a series is a treatment,'” she said. “So a great example of that would be whole body cryotherapy. If you come and do it once, it’s very invigorating. You can just pay for it once and do it as a treat. If you’re traveling in from out of town, and you want to do something neat or if you were someone who lived locally and struggles with inflammation, sleep or mood, and you just want to overall do something for your well being on a regular basis, then I’d recommend a membership or a package where you can get the price down and come more frequently.”

ThrIVe offers facial aesthetics, body aesthetics, spa and detox and medical wellness treatments.

Barclay said that if you have something that is bothering you or something that you’d like to be able to do or something that you used to be able to do, or you wish you could do, ThrIVe may be the place for you.

“Anything that you can think of medically, health and wellness, we likely can help,” Barclay said.

“So let’s get you in here. Let’s figure out what services would be appropriate for you, everything from detox to energy. We really can hit a lot of different things.”

ThrIVe is open Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday. It also has a 24-hour chat line at 304-381-6844, that can receive text questions.

“ThrIVe is about living a better life and truly thriving. Life doesn’t have to be as hard as our bodies, environment and genetics want to make it.” Barclay said

“And so there’s a term that gets used a lot nowadays, is ‘biohacking’ which is how we use science and technology to make our quality of life better – and that is the cornerstone of everything we do here.

She added that a new service coming to the business is Emvital which provides temporary relief from minor arthritis pain, muscle pain and stiffness.

“I tell people, come see us before you go to surgery. Let’s see if we can help you,” Barclay said.

“So you’re going to see ThrIVe move from just alternative wellness and esthetics to kind of expanding in that way of helping provide a comfortable life and quality of life.”
