Community Bank is proud to welcome Caleb Stephenson to his new role as Commercial Sales Associate in Wheeling. Since joining Community Bank in 2023, Stephenson has applied his marketing expertise to support the bank’s growth, deepen community connections, and collaborate with local businesses as a Marketing Analyst. These experiences prepared him to serve clients even more directly in his new role as a Commercial Sales Associate. We spoke with Stephenson about his experience and goals for serving the Wheeling community in his new position.

Can you tell us a bit about your professional journey and what led you to commercial banking?

My professional journey has always been rooted in a desire to help others and make a meaningful impact. Coming from a small town, I learned early on the value of relationships, trust, and community; those lessons have guided me throughout my career. I’ve always been drawn to roles where I could support people in achieving their goals, and commercial banking offered a unique opportunity to do just that on a larger scale.

Over time, I found myself increasingly interested in how businesses grow and how financial strategy plays a role in that success. That curiosity, combined with my commitment to serving others, naturally led me to commercial banking. It’s a space where I can build genuine relationships, offer strategic guidance, and help local businesses thrive while staying true to my values.

Joining Community Bank and serving the Wheeling market has been especially meaningful. The team here is incredibly collaborative and community-driven, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to contribute to a place that reflects the same spirit I grew up with. It’s more than a job, it’s a way to give back to a community that feels like home.

What attracted you to the Wheeling market specifically?

What really drew me to the Wheeling market was the sense of community. I’ve always valued the kind of close-knit environment where people genuinely care about one another. That’s exactly what I found in Wheeling. The team here gets along incredibly well, we’re collaborative, supportive, and all deeply committed to serving the community. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be part of something so meaningful. Being able to contribute to a place that values relationships and local impact is exactly the kind of work I want to be doing.

How do you see your role contributing to the growth of the Wheeling business community?

As a Commercial Sales Associate at Community Bank, my role is deeply rooted in supporting our Commercial Bankers and learning directly from their experience and expertise. This hands-on collaboration allows me to better understand the financial needs of local businesses and tailor solutions that help them survive.

Whether it’s through strategic lending, cash flow optimization, or simply being a reliable point of contact, I aim to be a resource that helps businesses navigate challenges and seize opportunities. My focus is on building relationships and delivering financial tools that align with each business’s unique goals.

Additionally, my work on Community Bank’s brand strategy reflects a broader commitment to aligning our services with the evolving needs of the Wheeling market. By listening to our clients and adapting our approach, I hope to contribute meaningfully to the growth and resilience of our local business community.

If you could describe your approach to banking in three words, what would they be?

Community. Integrity. Partnership.

Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hunting. It’s something I’ve always loved, and it gives me a chance to recharge. I’m also very family oriented. I’m the oldest of five, and my siblings keep me busy in the best way. My brothers Nate and Jake wrestle at Fairmont State University, my sister is a record-breaking volleyball player at California University of PA, and my youngest sister Elizabeth is involved in dance. So, most evenings or weekends, you’ll find me at one of their events, cheering them on. I’m also a die-hard Penn State fan, whether it’s football or wrestling season, I’m always keeping up with the Nittany Lions. Family, Penn State, and the outdoors are a big part of who I am.

How can local businesses reach out to you or start a conversation?

I’m always open to connecting with local businesses. You can reach me directly at 304-830-1642 or by email at cstephenson@cb.bank. Whether you’re exploring financing options or just want to talk through ideas, I’m here to help.
