Payne Is Named Associate Coach Of Wheeling Nailers

WHEELING – The Wheeling Nailers are excited to announce that Jason Payne has been named the team's new Associate Coach. Payne, 50, has coached in the ECHL for the last seven seasons. His first coaching opportunity in the league came in 2018, when he joined the Cincinnati Cyclones as an assistant coach. During his first season, Cincinnati posted a 51-13-8 record and 110 points to capture the Brabham Cup for the best regular season record in the ECHL. PARKERSBURG – The 2026-27 high school wrestling season in West Virginia is still a couple of months away, but the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission has announced the Regional Tournaments sites and alignments. Last season, 2025-26 was the first year that the state was divided into two divisions – I and II – instead of the traditional Class A/A and Class AAA.
