NEW PHILADELPHIA – Martins Ferry sophomore-to-be Ford Hughes tossed a complete game three-hitter Wednesday night as St. Clairsville Post 159 blanked New Philadelphia, 10-0, in five innings in American Legion baseball action. Hughes struck out four, walked one and yielded a trio of harmless singles in his route-going performance. He threw 66 pitches, with 42 being strikes.
