PREP ROUNDUP: Cameron Takes Down Madonna

CAMERON -- Jessop Broughton scored 15 of his 25 points in the third quarter to help lift Cameron over Madonna, 72-55 in prep boys basketball action.

He also hauled in 11 rebounds to record a double-double.

Freshman Cole Burkett garnered 15 points for the Dragons (10-7), while Noah Neely netted 10 and sophomore Trevor Beresford collected 10 rebounds and three blocks.

Brennan Secrist paced the Dons (8-8) with 23 points.

MORRISTOWN -- Union Local won its 13th game out of its last 14 to clinch the top seed in the OVAC Class 3A tournament, which will set up a matchup with Magnolia.

Luke Merritt paced the Jets (14-5) with 24 points.

Luke Powell paced the Shamrocks (11-8) with 18 points and 10 boards.

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Brayden Mineard cashed on a go-ahead 3-pointer with four seconds left to lift Oak Glen over East Liverpool. Zach Taylor supplied a game-high 22 points for the Golden Bears.

PINE GROVE -- Four Beallsville players scored in double figures in a victory over Valley.

Dakota Phillips led the Blue Devils with 17 points while Kolin Ludwig netted 14.

For the Lumberjacks, Levi Anderson poured in a game-high 19 points while Abe Satterfield secured 16.

SISTERSVILLE -- Mark Rucker netted a team-high 17 points and Caleb Strode added 12 but Tyler Consolidated (3-15) fell to St. Marys (11-5).

STEUBENVILLE -- Four Shadyside players cracked double digits in scoring as the Tigers secured a victory over Steubenville Catholic.

Bryce Amos had a game-high 19 points for the Tigers while Kelly Hendershot supplied 17.

For the Crusaders, Charles Miller had a team-high 16 points.

BRIDGEPORT -- Cooper Dulesky pocketed 22 points and Riese O'Kernick delivered 21 as Bridgeport pulled away from Buckeye Local in the fourth quarter.

Jake Mayle paced the Panthers with 12 points, followed by Cameron Grabits and Luke Darrah with 10 points each.

WELLSBURG -- St. Clairsville avenged an earlier season loss to Brooke by handing the Bruins a loss on thier own floor.

Will Balgo paced the Red Devils with 29 points and Brett Vike added 12 in the win.

Alex Isinghood led Brooke with 20 points and Alex Lilly supplied 13.

WINTERSVILLE -- Logan Kuczykowski and Logan Shaffer scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, to spark Indian Creek in a win over Toronto.

Brendan Matyas paced the Red Knights with 16 points.

WOODSFIELD -- Auston Hogue and Talin Babcock amassed 11 and 10 points, respectively, as Monroe Central upended River by two.

SISTERSVILLE -- Caleigh Phillips tallied a game-high 19 points as Tyler Consolidated (4-13) defeated Wirt County.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Ava Brunner netted 10 points but a rash of injuries in the third quarter hurt East Richland (8-5) in a loss to Wood County Christian.
