MEC TOURNEY ROUNDUP: Concord Men Rally to Defeat Notre Dame College

WHEELING -- Concord over came a 11-point, second half deficit to secure a victory over Notre Dame College, 73-68 in the first round of the Mountain East Conference Tournament Wednesday at WesBanco Arena.

The Mountain Lions move on to the quarterfinals where they will face off against top-seeded West Liberty 6 p.m. Friday.

Trey Brisco paced Concord with 27 points while going 14 of 14 from the free throw line while David Mulumba and Martin Kelly Jr. each netted 10.

With 4:48 to go, Brisco gave the Mountain Lions their first lead of the contest since they led 12-10 in the first half.

After a DeAnthony Owens response for the Falcons, the Mountain Lions took the lead for good as they scored eight consecutive points to take a 66-59 lead with 1:31 remaining.

Four Notre Dame players scored in double figures as Jordan Burton had a team-high 15 points while Owens and Drew Scarberry both chipped in 14.

Levi Frankland rounded out the double figure scorers with 11 points.

W.Va. Wesleyan 68 Urbana 54

WHEELING -- West Virginia Wesleyan led by as many as 21 in the second half en route to a victory over Urbana. The Bobcats will face second-seeded Charleston noon on Friday.

Daylin Lee supplied 24 points for Wesleyan while Dusan Vicentic tallied a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Blue Knights had two players in double figures as both Tehree Horn and Matt Ashley both scored 10 points.
